Our Ethical Dove Release Policy

At Heavenly Wings Dove Release, the health, safety, and dignity of our birds always come first. We’re proud to serve Washington with white dove release services for weddings, funerals, memorials, and special events — and we follow a strict ethical policy to ensure that every release is both beautiful and responsible.
Here’s our promise to you — and to our doves:
-
We only release well-trained, well-cared-for white homing pigeons (also known as racing pigeons). These birds are raised and trained to safely return to their home loft after each ceremony.
-
A knowledgeable dove release coordinator will be present at every event — always reliable, always on time, and ready to make sure everything goes smoothly.
-
Our team will arrive dressed appropriately for your occasion, whether it's a formal wedding or a heartfelt memorial.
-
If we need to cancel due to uncontrollable events (like bad weather or natural disasters), any deposits will be fully refunded.
-
We never release doves indoors or in enclosed spaces.
-
We never release doves at night or too close to sunset, when visibility and safe navigation become a concern.
-
We do not release doves in poor weather conditions, including heavy rain, fog, snow, or smoke from wildfires. Light showers may be acceptable at our discretion, but we will never release doves in thunderstorms or downpours.
-
We do not ship or allow self-releases — for the safety of the birds and the integrity of the experience, our team always handles the release unless specified circumstnces we allow clients to hold birds.
-
We only release within safe flight ranges, ensuring each dove can return home without stress or danger.
This policy reflects our deep respect for the animals we work with and the people we serve. When you choose Heavenly Wings, you’re choosing care, professionalism, and compassion — from takeoff to return.
